It is a fundamental contention of Real Economics as an extension of Malthusian population dynamics that Earth, as a celestial planetary organism, would manifest an immune-system response commensurate with the spread of its most persistent and destructive parasite, humanity.

COVID-19, H5N1, West Nile Virus, Dengue, Monkeypox and other viral and mosquito-born infections diseases are actively spreading, and while scientific methodology is incapable of generating data to prove any sort of correlation, we can credibly infer that infectious disease is one mechanism of the immune response of a planetary organism like Earth.

Right now, there are more infected people walking around with an active COVID-19 infection than there were in January 2021.

Right now, there are 600+ people a day dying from Covid in the US alone.

Right now, 1 in 27 people in British Columbia have Covid. Its 1 in 26 in Ontario.

No one is wearing a mask. Relatively few are receiving vaccinations.

That is because all public health messaging regarding masking and distancing has ceased. All that remains is the ubiquitous “get your vaccination” message, which,  though valid, is nonetheless lost on a vaccine-weary population who just wants to get on with living, and for whom the persistent refrain has become background noise.

Meanwhile, there are a host of nasty infectious diseases moving up the ladder toward pandemic status, and these are even more ignored by health departments.

There are over 57,000 cases of Monkey Pox. Avian Influenza, though still not passing from human to human (that we know of) is nonetheless spreading from birds to cows to cats and back again, with the occasional human infection among agricultural workers in exposed environments.

Even beloved or reviled Dr. Fauci is recovering from West Nile Virus.

There is still elevated levels of RSV affecting school children, who are now heading back to school and will soon be little vectors of pestilence infecting the general public in widening rings of autumn flu.

The cost to governments of subsidizing society and industry during the lockdowns of 2020 – 2022 was in the hundreds of billions. While industry was bequeathed massive sums with no recourse and no questions asked, society (in Canada, anyway) has been since plagued with the federal government under Justin Trudeau clawing back the funds distributed in the Canadian Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS, $100 billion) program,  the Canadian Emergency Relief Benefit (CERB) program, and the Highly Affected Sectors Capital Assistance Program (HASCAP) like a degenerate gambling addict who regrets buying the house a round after winning a few hands of poker.

This all points to a circumstantial body of evidence as to why there is zero government response to the still out-of-control pandemic in Covids short and long, and why they are pretending the broadening range and incidence of infectious disease outbreaks simply doesn’t exist.

The abdication by government of its responsibility toward the care and protection of its citizens is indicative of an inability, or at the very least, an unwillingness, to directly engage in sustained and persistent strategies to limit the impact of infectious diseases. The withdrawal of government funded surveillance and tracking of disease data in, for example, sewage monitoring, is emblematic of a preference toward ignoring the pandemic as opposed to attacking it.

All of this points to a decay in what we think of as the construct of civilization, or society, as is to be expected when disproportionate population representation begins to choke out the main ecological systems of the Earth organism. We perceive ourselves as external to the organism without recognizing that our very essence is dependent on a healthy and symbiotic population balance relative to all populations within the ecology.

That is our most basic disconnect as the apex species within the ecology. And that disconnect is what opens the evolutionary door for other species to leapfrog humanity – like viruses and bacteria – and ultimately terminate that limb of the evolutionary historical tree.

It is increasingly clear that there will be no actual coordinated global governance attempt to modulate climate change and this population imbalance, and so it is not reasonable to anticipate the salvation of humanity by any internal leadership.

It is clear that our geo-political power structure is firmly within the control of the elite financial minority who, if I was to deduce their mindset from their behaviour, appear to be convinced that their best strategy is to force the continued overproduction of products from resources confident that their financial resources will assure their “last man standing” position among the aftermath of  a peak and rapid downward revision in human population as a result of convergent systemic ecological collapses.

For this reason, I do not feel it worthwhile to persist in the development of the Real Economic Model because it is improbable that we last as a civilization long enough to evolve to such an enlightened state of our actual intended role as custodians and maintainers of the ecology rather than its exploiters and destroyers.
